What?! My knitting looks like vomit?!
He clarified that it was the colors, not my stitchwork or pattern.
I can take criticism, so I took a step back and looked at what was in my hands. Yep, it looks like puke:

I can't give that to my friend. The purples-green ombre just doesn't go with the green yarn. They look "pukey" together. It's been frogged.

nice to see that someone is as hooked on those washcloths as i am!!! such a wonderful, wonderful project. and so what if it does look like puke??? sometimes... once used on dishes, it's going to look close to that anyway. if it's your face you are using it on though... that's another story.
If I was knitting it for myself, I'd just keep on knitting, but for my friend, I wanted something nicer.
"Hooked"? I'm not obsessed with knitting waschloths. ;) Hey, I can't help that they make great little gifts.
Hey there - I get similar comments from my hubby. Most be a guy thing - so honest ;-) If you want the gnome pattern, send me an email with your email adress. I read your profile and noticed that you are a Red Sox fan. I just knitted baseball socks for my BIL - he is also a big Red Sox fan as well. Here is a pic - I think you need to copy paste the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bavgirl/236215296/in/set-72157594257726557/ . Thanks for checking my blog - yours is great!
oh no!! I just came back from the Michael's sale with these very colors, intending to use them together!! Maybe in a different pattern (I found this cool plaid stitch in an old book) it won't be pukey? Or perhaps I must consider a different combo...
i actually made a baby blanket in those exact colors and i thought it turned out nice - i used all green in the center - its sage peaches and cream or sugar and cream or whatever right? and the mixed grean/purple/blue cotton too? i did the center two strands sage and the border one strand sage and one strand mixed... i thought it looked pretty nice... oh well.
Before casting on, I had thought the green and purple-cream-green ombre would look great together, but I just wasn't feeling the love, and then my boyfriend made that comment.... so I frogged it. Maybe it was the way the ombre and green looked together in my pattern. The ombres look very different knit into different patterns.
